What does success mean to you? Part 2

So how does one become successful? The first step to becoming successful is making a quality decision that you already are a success. Regardless of what your circumstances are saying to you at the present moment, when you think and feel like a success you will continue to attract good things to come your way.

The fact of the matter though is that when your husband has left you, the rent money is due, you’ve lost your job, or your business is not doing well your emotions are going to tell you a different story. You take your clues from your five physical senses, the stories that you tell yourself and the assumptions that you have made. Assumptions are not facts.

It’s  precisely at this time that you need to feel good about yourself. But how do you rise above the deluge of thoughts and emotions that drag you under? It’s by changing the way you think. If you change the way you think you will change the way you feel. Instead of those thoughts making you feel like a failure, not good enough, wanting to give up, realise that you can embrace every set back and challenge as an opportunity for your growth. Then reach for thoughts that make you feel good, and from that “feeling good place” you will be able to take a different action.

Now I know that this isn’t as easy as it seems especially as your circumstances are telling you a different story. We have been so conditioned to believe what our five senses tell us. So what is the solution?

I know I’m repeating myself, but it bears repeating -the key to your success is changing your thinking. What you think and the kind of thoughts that fill your mind on a regular basis affects your feelings, which influences your actions and attracts those circumstances into your life.

Your mind has two parts to it. The conscious and the subconscious mind.

Your conscious mind is the part of you that thinks and reasons. You have the free will to choose your thoughts. Your conscious mind  does not see the world as it really is, because you only see what your internal environment is conditioned to see. Your conscious mind  looks for patterns and images that are familiar and rejects those that aren’t. Your thinking therefore is influenced entirely by the content of your sub-conscious mind. Who you are as a person is a reflection of the content of your sub-conscious mind.

Everything that you have ever seen, smelt, heard, tasted or felt has been recorded into your sub conscious mind, and your sub-conscious mind notices all the details that the conscious mind can’t take in. It has the ability of a genius. Your incredible and amazing subconscious mind can recognize, file, store and retain 100 million pieces of information per second.

Imagine that ! What an extrordinary, awesome, amazing and brilliant piece of equipment you have within you.
