What does success mean to you? Part 3

Your sub conscious mind is like a huge computer that records everything that you see, hear, taste, feel and smell. The sub conscious mind is so powerful tht it can recognise, file and store 100 million pieces of information per second. Mind boggling isn’t it? What the most powerful computer in this world can do pales in comparison to what your sub conscious mind is capable of doing.

Even the most intelligent people only use 5% of their mind. What is the reason for this? Here is what happens what happens to a baby right from the time of conception. The baby begins to receive information from all it’s senses while still in the womb. Most of this programming is formed during the formative years until the age of seven, after which time the conscious mind is formed.

Research studies have shown that the average child receives at least twenty negative messages from their parents for every positive one. The word tht parents use the most is “No.” The child is told most often “You can’t do this,” or you can’t do that,” or ” No, don’t do that.”

Parents also talk in front of their children without realising that their children hear and receive as truth eveything that they or the relatives are saying about them. All this negative goes straight into their sub conscious mind when such statements are made:

He’s not amiable like his brother.

He’s always crying and gives us so much trouble.

She will never amount to anything.

He’s not smart enough to go to university.

Of course good things are also said but not nearly enough. People look at the negative circumstances that are taking place in their lives and focus on that. The sub conscious mind records everything -the attitudes, values and fears of the parents, their limiting beliefs and the decisions based on those beliefs such as:

        Money doesn’t grow on trees.

You have to work hard for money.

I’m just making it from pay cheque to pay cheque.

        Every thing is so expensive.

        I can’t afford it.

This was the beginning of the conditioning that you received which formed your beliefs, values and personality when you were young, and continues to do so for the rest of your life, unless they are changed.

We are also continually receiving information from our environment. One of the ways this happens is through that little voice that is always judging the information that you receive against your beliefs and values that have been stored in your sub conscious mind. If they are in alignment with your beliefs, you accept it, if not you will reject it.

There is a part of your brain that is looking for information in the outer world to support the beliefs and values which are present in your inner world. It will say things like:

I’m just not good with money.

I have such a hard time getting along with my family.

I never seem to get ahead.

       I’m not good enough.

Have you had the chatter in your head telling you what you can and what you can’t do? Has it been mainly positive or negative? That voice that talks to you constantly is just like a mirror which is reflecting what is stored in your sub conscious mind. We are told by experts in this field that more than 75% of what enters a person’s sub conscious mind is negative.

Here is an example of one way you may be experiencing self sabotage. Although you may be working hard you may be feeling like you are not getting ahead. You look at your business friends and they have a good job, a nice car, a lovely house and they are financially independent. Your mind starts to compare it to how you are doing, and based on what beliefs are stored in your sub conscious mind you will come up with the belief that substantiates that you are not good enough and that you are not cut out to climb the corporate ladder.

However what is taking place is that your outer world (you are not getting ahead) and your inner world (your belief that you are not good enough) were aligning themselves with each other and creating balance. They were in agreement. This is why the real battle has to be fought on the inside, on the inner plane to change the belief systems that are not serving you.

The good news is that you have the power and the ability to change your beliefs and change your life around.
