Achieving your goals.

Setting goals is a powerful process to motivate you for what you want to achieve in your life. Goals help you to know where to focus your efforts, and writing down your goals is the first step to making it happen.
One of the reasons that people do not set goals is because they do not know the difference between a goal and a glimpse of what they would like to do.
A goal is something that you are committed to doing. It is written down, and you are willing to use your time, energy, money and all your resources to getting it done no matter what stands in your way. This means that you include a time frame for when you want to achieve it.
A glimpse on the other hand is something that you would like to do some day. It is not that important to you, or you aren’t that passionate about it, therefore there is no real commitment to forge ahead.
How intense is your desire? Are you passionate about your goals? Why do you want it?
We all have these glimpses about what we would like to do through out our lives; perhaps learn to play the violin, visit the Great Sphinx or the Taj Mahal, learn to sail, or to speak a foreign language. Because it is not a high priority we let go of the idea and are not willing to use the energy to do that right now.
One way of recognizing the difference between your goals and your glimpses is to make a list of all the things that you would like to do. Categorise them into your life’s purpose, passions, travel, service, fun. They can be as long as you like. Then separate them down into goals and glimpses.
Then ask yourself how intense is my desire? How badly do I want it? Can you visualize yourself achieving your goals? The greater the passion you have for it the easier it will be to take the necessary steps to achieving it especially when you face obstacles.
The trick is to intensify the passion by thinking and keeping your mind focused on your goals and the benefits that it brings to you, your family, your lifestyle or your business.
What are the critical steps that you need to take for this goal to become a reality?
Should you encounter hurdles that impede your progress don’t give up. Instead take a look at all the factors that are keeping you stuck. Be flexible and modify the action steps that you need to take to meet your present situation.
Lastly review your day by keeping track of what small step you took towards moving you in the direction of your goal. This will help to motivate you to move forward.
Every small step adds up. If you are closer to your goal this week than the week before you are doing incredibly well. Celebrate and acknowledge your success.

Clear your clutter

What is clutter? Clutter is stuff that that no longer brings you joy, inspiration, or benefit. Clutter is what you are not currently using, want or need. It is stuck energy that brings about physical, mental, emotional and spiritual results.
At one time it wasn’t clutter, in fact you probably had great fun shopping for the things that you now have, or the gifts that were given to you. Now the stuff is taking too much room in your life.
Physical clutter is also an indication that there may be a feeling of overwhelm that is taking place in your mind and emotions, and weighing you down. Here are some steps to get your stuck energy circulating and get you back on track
Go through your home and remove, throw or donate any useless, unnecessary or unwanted items. If there are any objects that cause some negative emotions because of the past, you may want to consider parting with those items.
We suggest that you put a large box in the center of the room to discard, and another box where you want to give away the items. Begin with one drawer or cupboard at a time and work on that before moving to on to a whole room.
Going through the paper clutter requires more time and thought. Put things in categories like receipts and statements, paid bills; articles and magazines, stationary and office supplies, which will help you to sort each category separately.
There will never be an end to clutter, because you will always have mail coming to you, you will be buying things and receiving gifts. The good news is to have a relationship with your physical environment and decide what is important and necessary for you to keep, so that when you bring something new into your life there is a place for it. One way of maintaining this with ease is to let go of something that now is not crucial in your life before bringing in something new.
Physical clearing does several things:
1. It shows you the chaos or the clarity of your thoughts.
2. It helps you to detach mentally and physically.
3. It creates the space to allow new energy to come into your life.
Removing physical clutter has more to do with shifting the energy within you than from your environment. Everything that is taking place in our outer reality is an indication of what is happening in your inner self. Putting your external home in order allows corresponding changes to take place in your internal realm, freeing up the space for the energy of new possibilities and miracles to enter into your life.
When your mind is on overload, overwhelm becomes a chronic problem. Letting go of mental clutter gives you peace of mind enabling you to use your creative ability to design your life on purpose.
An easy way to keep your mind free of mental clutter is writing down your thoughts on paper. I get a great sense of fulfillement crossing off the jobs that I have accomplished from my to do list .
Emotional Clutter.
We have many wounds and memories from the past that have caused us to feel disappointed, rejected, let down, angry and frustrated. When these unhealed memories and wounds are not attended to, they fester. We may think that if we just suppress our emotions and not deal with them that they will leave us alone, but they don’t. If our wounds are not healed, they will affect our emotions, actions and behaviors. Ignoring them is like putting them into a pressure cooker. When the pressure gets to be too much, it is released often by inappropriate behavior.
Our feelings are the best indicator of our emotional well being. Holding on to feelings of resentment, jealousy, blame, and anger is detrimental to our physical health and wellbeing. Are you aware of what you are feeling when your buttons are being pushed? How do you deal with those emotions? Do you suppress them by putting on a sweet smile, complaining or blowing up?
You need to understand that it’s OK for you to feel what you are feeling, regardless of how strong the emotions may be, but they need to be processed.
Do not judge your thoughts or feelings. They are neither good nor bad. They just are. Your judgment of them is what makes them good or bad.
Acknowledge and take ownership of the feelings that are not serving you because they are part of you. They are a signal to let you know that all is not well and that you need to deal with the root cause of what you are experiencing.
