You’ve probably heard the saying that the answers are within you, but what does that mean? Have you ever thought about how you get access to the answers? What do you do when you need to get an answer to a problem? Do you go outside of ourselves because you fear that you may get the wrong answer if you went within?
You need to realize that when you go to someone else for the answer that the answer that you receive from them is good for them and not necessarily good for you.
I love what Neal A Maxwell says “In the economy of heaven God does not send thunder if a still small voice is enough, or a prophet if a priest can do the job.”
How Can We Hear The Answers From Within?
I believe that we don’t hear the answers from that still small voice within us, because we don’t know how to stop the mental chatter that we are constantly bombarded with every day. They are the inner thoughts of false assumptions, judgments, opinions, the limiting beliefs and the acting out of the should/s and the have to/s.
The solution is obvious. When we turn down the volume of the mind chatter, we will be able to hear the still small voice of our soul. How do we do this?
We do this by releasing the baggage, by releasing the stories, the limiting beliefs that reinforce the lies that keep us small and powerless because we don’t know who we are. When we release that data it’s easy to hear the answers from that still small voice within us. Here’s a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that says it best “If you don’t go within, you go without”
What you discover by going within, determines how you perceive, connect and explore your outer world and will determine the quality of your life. Your inner view sets your outlook on life because if you really knew who you are, you would be operating from the truth of knowing that you are awesome, magnificent and powerful.
You would have the knowing that anything is possible, that you are capable of success and have the power to create your heaven on earth.
Ask yourself this question.
How can I shed the limiting beliefs that are holding me back and embrace liberating truths that can propel me forward?
If you haven’t been doing the inner release work consistently I invite you to make the decision to do so today. Your decisions determine your direction, and your direction determines your destiny. Or putting it another way, the decisions you make, make you.

Great article Brenda. Doing the inner work on a daily basis is key. Each of us has the answers within, once we realize that shift begins.
I loved what you said Carolyn ” that doing the inner work on a daily basis is key” Being consistent is important because we get to recognize that inner still voice. Thank you for sharing.
